The upcoming Downton Abbey movie has officially begun production. The series was one of television's most popular period dramas in recent years, and even though it has ended its run on television, a movie continuing the beloved British characters' storylines is moving forward to give fans one last glimpse into the refined Edwardian world of Downton Abbey.

The series - which followed the lives and events of the Crawley family, as well as their servants, over the course of the early 20th century in rural England - concluded with a sixth season in 2016 . During its time on TV, Downton Abbey drew the attention of viewers at home and critics alike, and it went down as the most nominated non-US television show in the history of the Emmys. Almost two years after the series ended, it was announced that a movie was going to be produced by Carnival Films so that fans could rejoin the Downton characters' lives one last time.

Though there have been some delays since the initial announcement of the Downton Abbey movie, the project has now finally begun production, according to Focus Features. Gareth Neame, Carnival's Executive Chairman and the film's producer said, “We are excited that photography is about to start on the long awaited film and that the beloved main characters will be joined by such exceptional actors playing new roles unique to the movie.”

Earlier this summer, it was confirmed that the series' original cast will return for the film, including key stars such as Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Elizabeth McGovern, and Laura Carmichael. However, as Focus Features revealed in the press release, there will now be some new players in the mix as well. Simon Jones, Kate Phillips, David Haig, and Tuppence Middleton are some of the few actors who will be joining the original Downton Abbey cast to bring fans a brand new story. Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes wrote the movie's script and will be producing the adaptation alongside Gareth Neame and Liz Trubridge, with Brian Percival returning to executive produce.

Dave Bautista wants to be in  Star Wars , but has been turned down for a role twice. Now that Disney and Lucasfilm are making new Star Wars movies on a near yearly basis, there will be plenty of roles up for grabs.  Star Wars: Episode IX is currently filming and filling out its cast with Matt Smith becoming the latest to join . However, they also have a trilogy from Rian Johnson on the horizon and a series of films from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. As those projects take shape, one of the biggest steps they'll each go through is casting.

The recent Star Wars films have done a great job of mixing in lesser known leads with big name cast members. Daisy Ridley and John Boyega are prime examples of Star Wars turning individuals into stars, while additions like Benicio Del Toro, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikklesen, and others saw them bring in established names - and those with Disney ties. Unfortunately, being part of the Disney machine hasn't helped Dave Bautista get involved.

In an interview with  Flickering Myth , the co-star of  Guardians of the Galaxy was asked about his interest in joining the galaxy far, far away. Bautista is very much interested in joining the franchise, so much so that he's already auditioned on multiple occasions for roles. He said, "I've actually auditioned for a couple of Star Wars [movies] and they've turned me down. It was always a dream of mine to be in a Star Wars film."

Based on the roles that the latest line of Star Wars films have had, it isn't easy to pick out one that would easily suit Bautista. He could've been a very different version of DJ in  Star Wars: The Last Jedi or maybe even taken on the role of Galen Erso in Rogue One, but neither are perfect fits. Bautista's strengths have come through comedy as evident in his role as Drax the Destroyer, but also with action. With so many hoping that Benioff and Weiss are tackling the Old Republic setting, that could be a place where Bautista could fit in.

Marie Severin, veteran comic book artist, colorist, and the co-creator of Spider-Woman has passed away at the age of 89. Fans, friends, and former colleagues everywhere have taken to social media today to pay tribute to the industry legend, remembering her as both extraordinary talented, and a pioneer for women artists in comics.

For the industry, this marks a farewell to a contributor who'd been involved since the Golden and Silver Age of comics. Since she created the costume for arguably her most famous character in the late 1970s, Spider-Woman has undergone many different incarnations throughout the years, including Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson. The character has yet to join the ongoing, present day run of Marvel live-action film and television series; however, Gwen Stacy is set to appear slinging webs in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse , which is scheduled to hit theaters in December.

Irene Vartanoff confirmed Marie Severin's passing on Facebook today. Her career in comics began in the late 1940s, when she joined EC Comics as a colorist. She then went on to join Atlas Comics, which would later become Marvel. She became the lead colorist, and eventually a penciler who worked on The Avengers, Captain America, Conan the Barbarian, and Doctor Strange. In response to the news, Stan Lee has since tweeted his tribute, revealing some her incredible artwork from The Incredible Hulk and Spider Woman. Sherlock Holmes is undoubtedly the most famous detective in literary history, and his enduring appeal as a mystery solver is seen in the countless interpretations of his character over the years in film and television. Created by Sir Alfred Conan Doyle in 1887, Sherlock Holmes has always been known for his eccentricity, his super sleuth skills, and of course his deerstalker hat.

We've seen many variations of Sherlock Holmes come to life, from John Barrymore's portrayal in 1922 to Robert Downey Jr.'s interpretation of the detective in the more recent Guy Ritchie films. However, no actor seems to have so perfectly captured audiences' imagination of Sherlock Holmes as Benedict Cumberbatch, who became the star of the BBC series Sherlock back in 2010.

With his manic idiosyncrasies and complete disregard for social norms, Cumberbatch's portrayal of Sherlock has, for many, become the definitive version of Sir Alfred Conan Doyle's beloved creation. With a stellar supporting cast including Martin Freeman as the loyal sidekick Dr. Watson, Sherlock has become a worldwide hit that has kept the magic and mystery of the original stories alive and kicking.

Although you might think you're on par with Sherlock when it comes to sussing out problems, we bet even the most astute mystery chaser will be surprised by the secrets we've uncovered about the making of Sherlock. From hair disasters, to hidden easter eggs, to frenemy tensions, there's a lot going on behind the scenes of this high-drama, high-stakes TV show.

With that in mind, here are 20 BTS Details About The Making Of The Sherlock TV Show.

The cast of Netflix's Castlevania are seeing red in a new poster promoting the series' upcoming second season. Based on the popular video games by Konami, the long-running franchise details the centuries-spanning battle between the Belmont family and Count Dracula. The Netflix series, which draws inspiration primarily from the third Castlevania game, Dracula's Curse, was a surprise smash hit for the streaming service and is now widely regarded as one of the greatest adaptations of a video game storyline in any medium ever.

The plot of Netflix's Castlevania focuses on the cursed land of Wallachia, which has suffered the wrath of Count Dracula (Graham McTavish) ever since a corrupt bishop saw Dracula's wife burned as a witch. Enter Trevor Belmont (Richard Amitage) - scion of the long-banished Belmont clan, whose family's knowledge of the dark arts and history of hunting the forces of evil have made them nearly as unpopular in Wallachia as Dracula himself. Joining with a group of wanderers known as The Speakers, Trevor rescued the Speaker sorceress Sypha Belnades (Alejandra Reynoso) and joined their quest to locate the tomb of a legendary "Sleeping Soldier' it was said held the key to defeating Dracula. The season concluded with Trevor and Sypha locating the soldier and recruiting him to their cause, discovering that the "Sleeping Soldier' was Alucard (James Callis) - Dracula's half-vampire son.

Marvel Comics has removed an image from a recent issue of The Amazing Spider-Man that references a book questioning the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The artwork containing the reference has been altered for all subsequent editions.

The reference appears in the middle of a  surprising story arc within  The Amazing Spider-Man  series, written by Nick Spencer with artwork by Ryan Ottley. The story arc features a divided Peter Parker/Spider-Man pair - literally. The two halves of the iconic character were split into two people, with one taking the duties of the wall-crawler and the other remaining focused on the grounded life of university student Peter Parker. While introducing a fun and shocking twist, the storyline also allowed for Ottley to incorporate a slightly provocative reference - or so he thought.

Detailed by THR, Marvel Entertainment and Ottley have edited the panel containing the reference for later editions of the comic. The reference itself was contained in an image of Spider-Man branding himself with logos of numerous companies and icons for endorsement deals. One of the logos read, "CES Letter,' the title of a book by ex-Mormon Jeremy Runnells, which questions the church's origins and practices. The panel containing the image will now feature alternate logos for Spidey's endorsement deals, cleanly omitting the controversial title. The altered logos will be featured in both digital and reprinted releases, as well as collected editions.

Star Wars fans may think they know when Darth Vader's helmet first appeared, but a new comic book reveals Anakin Skywalker donned a prototype of the mask long before he fell to the Dark Side - he just didn't know it at the time.

It's a fun addition to the Star Wars canon, unlike other recent comic books which have made Darth Vader's story more tragic , or shown that on some level, he never stopped loving Padmé Amidala . Instead, this reveal comes during the days of the Clone Wars animated series, when Anakin was still serving as bodyguard (and secret husband) to Senator Padmé.

And a truly strange mission saw him in need of a supremely familiar looking, gas mask-equipped helmet...

The story by Elsa Charretier & Pierrick Colinetcan be found in Star Wars Adventures #13, a younger reader friendly (but still set in the existing canon) comic series from IDW. The mission? For Padmé to attend a few special performances led by the eccentric, egotistical, and galactically praised actress Risha Synata. Even Anakin is a fan of Synata's films... until she sends droids to kill both Padmé and her Jedi bodyguard, revealing herself as an operative of the Separatists.

Arrowverse Fall 2018 Trailer Shows The Heroes Fighting Back

The DC superheroes of the Arrowverse  are ready to fight in the upcoming fall TV season. Although it has yet to begin, the 2018-2019 season of The CW's superhero shows has some high ambitions. Oliver Queen will begin the season  behind bars and badly beaten , and Tyler Hoechlin's Superman will be returning as well as  introducing Lois Lane . Most notably, however,  Ruby Rose is playing Batwoman in the 2018 crossover, with the chance that she could headline her very own series.

With the new seasons quickly approaching, all kinds of details and first looks are starting to come out, especially following the first trailer debuts at San Diego Comic-Con last month. Most recently, The CW gave the best look yet at  Barry Allen's new Flash suit , which is more comic accurate than the ones he's had before. And going more comic accurate is something Stephen Amell plans to do with his new look on Arrow this season. Now, a new trailer gives fans even more to look forward to.

The new trailer comes directly from The CW's official YouTube page. The launch of the next year of the Arrowverse is little over a month away, so there's no time like the present to get excited about the return of everyone's favorite televised superheroes. The Arrowverse will be bigger than ever in 2018, with five shows airing concurrently. That means there is plenty to dissect and obsess over in the trailer, which can be viewed below.

With so many shows being teased, there are a lot of split second moments that are worth further review. There's a quick shot of unicorn that almost certainly belongs to Legends of Tomorrow, as the wackiest of The CW's offerings will have an intense focus on magic in season 4. It also looks like there will be some weapons of mass destruction and an aggressive Kara in Supergirl season 4, which will be inspired by Superman: Red Son . There's not a whole lot of new Flash footage, but Barry Allen's more comic accurate super suit is on full display.

Eminem appears to have a tie-in song with  Venom . Sony is attempting to launch a cinematic universe of their own, one that could potentially one day rival the MCU or DCU. This wannabe Spider-Verse will begin in October with the release of Venom, and they have stacked the film with plenty of talent. Most of the attention has gone to the film's star, Tom Hardy, who plays Eddie Brock. However, he's been paired with Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer to help bring the anti-hero to the big screen properly.

Hardy is supported on screen with talent like Rogue One's Riz Ahmed or multiple Oscar-nominee Michelle Williams, just to name a few. Behind the camera, there's plenty of MCU regulars making up the crew, as well as Black Panther's composer. It turns out, Ludwig Göransson won't be the only musical talent lending his skills to Venom, though.

Eminem seems to have confirmed through a quick tease on Twitter that he'll have a song with Venom. Making an original song for a movie isn't an uncommon practice for Eminem, but it does give the movie just another big name to throw at audiences to try and generate interest and excitement.

MGM's upcoming The Addams Family animated movie has cast Eighth Grade star Elsie Fisher. Fisher is the latest to join the packed A-list cast that will voice the dark yet wacky computer animated characters of The Addams Family that fans all know and love.

The story of The Addams Family, which is based on characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams back in the 1930s, has gone through many versions, variations, and adaptations. From cartoon television series to live-action movies, perhaps the most iconic iteration of The Addams Family came with the 1991 film starring Raúl Juliá, Anjelica Huston, Christina Ricci, and Christopher Lloyd in the macabre comedy. This latest adaptation of The Addams Family had been in the works for some time, but production on the computer animated film began back in October of last year .

Notably, she started her career with voice acting in animated films, having played Agnes in the Despicable Me franchise. Now, she will add another comedy to her resume as she joins The Addams Family.
